Frequently asked questions
What has happened to my mutual fund investments?
On December 10, 2004, your former fund transferred all of its assets to an investment company (each a "Pioneer fund") managed by Pioneer Investment Management, Inc. (Pioneer) in exchange for Investor Class shares of the Pioneer fund. Generally each Pioneer fund is an existing mutual fund with investment objectives and policies substantially similar to your former fund.
Are my Pioneer fund shares the same class of shares as my previous fund?
Investor Class shares cannot be purchased after the reorganization (except by dividend/capital gain reinvestment). If you had a mutual fund at the time of the reorganization, you may purchase Class A shares of Pioneer funds in the future without paying a sales charge (Class A @ NAV).
Where can I find performance history for Pioneer mutual funds?
You can find information, literature, etc., for all of Pioneer's mutual funds at www.pioneerfunds.com.
Where can I find a prospectus for the new Pioneer funds?
They can be found online at www.pioneerfunds.com. In the proxy statement(s) you received, there is specific information related to the new Investor Class shares.
Did my account number change?
For the most part, account numbers will remain the same. Those shareholders impacted by account number changes will receive notification. The fund number on all accounts will be changed to reflect the Pioneer fund.
Who will provide my tax forms for 2004 activity?
For fund activity (distributions, redemptions, retirement plan contributions and distributions) before the merger on December 10, 2004, Symetra Securities will provide tax forms. Forms for any reportable activity after the merger through December 31, 2004 will come from Pioneer.
How can I get account history?
Account history for activity prior to the merger or for funds that were closed in 2004 before the merger is available from Symetra Securities.
What is the telephone number for Shareholder Services?

Contact Symetra Securities at 1-800-574-0233.
For questions about account activity in your new Pioneer account:
Contact Pioneer at 1-866-622-7816.

How were my mutual fund shares converted into Pioneer funds?
All share classes of the former mutual fund shares were liquidated and those assets were used to buy Investor Class shares in the corresponding Pioneer fund. The number of shares you own may have changed, but the value of the shares remained the same.
Will I pay a sales charge on future Pioneer fund investments?
Investor Class shares cannot be purchased after the reorganization (except by dividend/capital gain reinvestment). If you had a mutual fund at the time of the reorganization, you may purchase Class A shares of Pioneer funds in the future without paying a sales charge (Class A @ NAV).
What are the tax consequences of this merger?
For federal income tax purposes, the reorganization is expected to be a tax-free transaction for shareholders. Exchanges or redemptions completed prior to or following the merger will be subject to the normal tax considerations. You should consult your tax adviser for the particular tax consequences to you of the reorganizations, including the tax laws of your state.
